The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Hội nghị là diễn đàn trao đổi, chia sẻ các kết quả nghiên cứu và kinh nghiệm quản lý ở tất cả các lĩnh vực khoa học, nhằm góp phần chuyển giao khoa học công nghệ phục vụ sản xuất và đời sống người dân tại tỉnh nhà và trên phạm vi cả nước.

Finish the training course on Biostatistics of Harvard University

After 24 weeks of training course, on 28/04/2016,  nine members of ICHR and Public Health Faculty was honored to received the certificates of the training course on “Biostatistics for Public Health Research" sponsored by VEF Funding under the guidance of Professor. Long Ngo from Harvard University - USA. The certification ceremony was happen in International hall of Public Health Faculty,  in the framework of the 2016 Hue Festival, with the participating of many  colleagues, scientist, and communication agencies...

About this training course:

This training course is funded by the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF). VEF was established by the United States Congress in December 2000 as an independent federal agency. VEF’s primary purpose is to promote the bilateral relationship between the United States and Vietnam through educational exchanges, both for Vietnamese citizens to pursue graduate and post-graduate studies in the United States and for American citizens to teach in Vietnam. Leading VEF’s mission is the Board of Directors which includes President Obama’s cabinet members (United States Secretary of States John Kerry, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and Secretary of Treasury Jacob Lew), two U.S. Senators, and 2 Representatives.

Week 1:                SAS software, linear regression, odds, odds ratios and their relationship to probability

Week 2:                Logistic regression, estimation method, interpretation

Week 3:                Predicted probabilities, marginal effects from logistic regression            

Week 4:                Maximum likelihood estimation, convergence, multicollinearity

Week 5:                Goodness-of-fit, model diagnostics 

Week 6:                Receiver-Operating-Characteristic Curve, model discrimination,calibration

Week 7:                Probit, complementary log-log models, latent variables and standardized coefficients

Week 8:                Contingency table analysis with logit models

Week 9:                Overdispersion

Week 10:              Logistic regression for outcome with more than 2 categories

Week 11:              Estimation and interpretation of multinomial logistic regression

Week 12:              Contingency table analysis of R by C tables

Week 13:              Logistic regression for ordinal outcomes with more than 2 categories

Week 14:              Cumulative logit models

Week 15:              Adjacent categories models, and continuation ratio models

Week 16:              Discrete Choice Models

Week 17:              Models with ranked data

Week 18:              Advanced discrete choice models with analysis procedure   SAS/STAT Proc MDC

Week 19:              Analysis of longitudinal binary data using Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE)

Week 20:              Mixed models with SAS/STAT procedure Proc GLIMMIX

Week 21:              More GEE and GLIMMIX    

Week 22:              Regression for Count Data using Poisson regression models

Week 23:              Overdispersion in Poisson models, negative binomial regression models
