The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

Workshop on building Public Health Network in Mekong Sub-region nations organized at Luang Prabang-Laos (19-20/1/2012)

In old capital Luang Prabang of Laos, the workshop on building Public Health Network in Mekong Sub-region nations was held for 2 days 19-20/1/2012 with the participation of 16 Public Health Faculties in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanma and China. It was sponsored by CMB (China Medical Board- America).

Vietnam delegation includes leaders from Public Health Faculty of Hue University of Medical and Pharmacy, Thai Nguyen Medical College, Ha Noi Public Health College. Vietnam delegation has positively taken part in and given presentation on the present and future development of Public Health Network and cooperation tendency on three fields: Education, Research and Building International Policies within area.

Prof. Cai Lee and Dr. Tang Songyuan from Konming Medical College-China has presented the preparation of the Fourth International Public Health Conference in Great Mekong Sub-region nations. It will be planned to happen in Konming-China for 2 days 17-18/9/2012. After animated discussions, it came to the agreement of the objectives for Konming Conference in order to get cooperation, research and training on such issues as 
-    Using Health Care Systems and Services-Primary Health Care 
-    Sexual and Reproductive Health 
-    Maternal and Child Health according to millennium objectives 
-    HIV/AIDS-Tuberculosis and Malaria 
-    Nutrition and Food Safety 
-    Global Warning: Environment Effects on Health 
-    Mental Health 
-    Re-form Medical Education 

All members of the workshop have reached an agreement on participants including experts, lecturers and students of Medical Preventive and Public Health Faculties, international organizations and NGOs totally approximate 300-400 people. The Fourth International Conference and CMB have given priority to support reports on Medical Educational Innovation orienting toward community and encouraged presentations of students from Public Health Faculties in Greater Mekong Sub-region. 

Konming Medical College-China will formally announce the program and objectives of the Fourth Conference in early time in order that other nations send the list of members and scientific reports, plans for cooperation on public training and research in GMS and in the world. Rectors of Public Health College of Tangon, Myanma performed their presentation on the Fifth International Conference in 2013.

Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang-Dean of Public Health Faculty of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HUMP))-Vietnam introduced HUMP and International Collaborative Centre for Community Health Research (ICCCHR) and experiences in international effective cooperation on Public Health research and training. 

On this occasion, Asso. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang sent Congratulation Letter of Rector Prof. Cao Ngoc Thanh to Chairman CMB Lincolh Chen and expressed gratitude to this organization for supporting Public Health and Nursing Faculties in a training project in Hue. Chairman CMB Lincolh Chen highly appreciated Hue Medical and Pharmacy College’s ability in effective cooperation recently.
