The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. Working visit to Australia by Director of ICHRDuring one week between 11st to 17th July, 2015, A/Professor Vo Van Thang, Director of ICHR, Dean of Faculty of Public Health, Hue UMP had paid an official visit to the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Tasmania University (UTAS), Australia. At QUT, A/Professor Vo Van Thang has had meetings with Professor Ross Young (Executive Dean Health Faculty), Dr Lee Bergman (Dean Secretary of Health Faculty), Professor Helen Edwards (Assistant Dean- International & Engagement); Professor MaryLou Fleming (Head of School of Public Health and Social Work) and Professor Ignacio Correa-Velez (SPHSW Public Health Postgraduate Course Coordinator). During the meetings, A/prof. Vo Van Thang and professors from QUT have exchanged ideas and experiences about research collaboration between ICHR and QUT. They also have discussed about strategic planning and solutions for strengthening more effective and sustainable cooperation between ICHR and QUT in the coming time. ICHR’s model of working was especially interested by QUT staff and more effective activities were committed to be undertaken for strengthening connection and collaboration between ICHR and community in Vietnam. Picture1: ICHR Director atended Children & Youth Research Centre Advisory Board Meeting at QUT QUT has committed to transfer technical skills and knowledge from QUT experts according to the demands of Hue UMP regarding research management, publication in international scientific journals, training and library activities. Australia Awards Fellowships application and study visit on leadership to QUT by Hue UMP staff were also discussed. One short visit to QUT lasting between 2-8 weeks was planned to be carried out in April, 2016 for 8-10 leading staffs of Hue UMP. A. Prof Thang also had opportunity to meet professors who were currently supervising Vietnamese students at QUT to exchange experience of implementing high quality research and on time completing of their PhD projects. Publication of PhD research projects in prestige international journals after graduation was especially concerned.

Vo Van Thang has attended several meetings with Professor Denise Fassett – Dean of Faculty of Health; Professor Peter Wilson, Professor Nick Cooling- UTAS International relation management, and Dr Linda Murray-Lecturer on Public Health - Faculty of Health. The two universities have agreed on some collaboration activities between ICHR, Hue UMP and Faculty of Health, UTAS based on extending existing MoU between UTAS and Hue University, such as: lecturer exchange, undergraduate and postgraduate students exchange. One MOU including these collaboration activities will be completed for submission to leader boards of the two universities for approval in the earliest time |
