Upcoming Events

The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

Scientific Festival 2016

                    In the framework of the 2016 Hue Festival, from 28-30/4/2016, the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR) in collaboration with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy organized and participated in many scientific activities: "Hue Scientific Festival 2016 ","Health Fair Day" and “Community Forum: Food Safety”.

                   At Hue Scientific Festival 2016, nine members of ICHR and Public Health Faculty was honored to received the certificates of the training course on “Biostatistics for Public Health Research" sponsored by VEF Funding under the guidance of Professor. Long Ngo from Harvard University - USA. In addition, the researcher of the ICHR - Dr. Nguyen Dang Anh Thu also had excellent presentations at the International PhD Symposium,

                   In "Health Fair Day" 29/04/2016, ICHR had the exhibitions at the Ly Tu Trong park. With the slogan "Building stronger connections between the University and Community", ICHR always work with the community-centered approach. At the exhibition campus, civilians are introduced about the activities and achievements of ICHR in recent years as well as the Queensland University of Technology in Australia. Besides that, ICHR conducted a small survey to learn about the needs and health status of the local people.

Health Fair - activity in Scientific Festival 2016

 

                      TContinuing the above activities, in the morning of 30 April 2016, ICHR in coordination with the Women's Union of Thua Thien Hue province held the Community Forum with the theme on “Food safety". This Community Forum involved experts from many different disciplines, including A/Prof. Le Thi Huong – rector of Institute of Training and Preventive Medicine and Public Health - Hanoi Medical University; Dr. Tran Thi Tuyet Hanh – Hanoi School of Public Health; Dr. Nguyen Lo - Department of Infectious Diseases - Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy; Dr. Tran Thi Kim Pho - Deputy Head of Thua Thien Hue Departments of Food Safety and Hygiene; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoa - Head of Department of Parasitology - Infectious Diseases, Faculty of animal science and veterinary medicine - Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry; Dr. Luu Hong Phuc - University of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa province; the women and the people who were interested in participating in. The Community Health Forum had numeral topics such as "Hygiene and food safety in Vietnam: Progress and Challenges", "Food safety in Thua Thien Hue Province", "Risk Assessment exposure to chemicals in pork and Nghe An, Hung Yen in 2015 ". Moreover, invited experts also provided basic knowledge and answered questions for people about the problem related to "food safety".

                    Parallel with scientific activities, ICHR also had working sessions with Prof. Nabil Zary - Karolinska Institute - Sweden on teaching methods in medicine; Ms. Tran Kim Van Anh - OUCRU Coordinator with the "Science Cafe" project that would be implemented in the near future at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy; Dr. Connie Evashwick – editor of Frontiers Journal in USA to coordinate to publish a special issue on Frontiers journal; and Dr. Sanjay Rampal regarding the collaborative research plan and the training courses to improve the statistics skills for ICHR staff.
