The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

News: The 3rd International Conference on Health Literacy and Healthcare Efficiency, Asia Health Literacy Association

As an official member of the Asia Health Literacy Association (AHLA), Associate Professor Vo Van Thang – Director of the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR),  Dean of Faculty of Public Health, Hue UMP and Dr Nguyen Hoang Lan – researcher of ICHR, lecturer of Faculty of Public Health, Hue UMP have joined the 3rdInternational Conference on Health Literacy and Healthcare Efficiency held between the 9th-11st of November, 2015 in Tainan, Taiwan.

          This is the third time that AHLA organized the “International Conference on Health Literacy and Healthcare Efficiency”. The two previous conferences on this topic were also held in Taiwan in 2013 and 2014. The conference this time has brought together researchers and leading institutions in the field of health literacy from 20 countries in the Asia region and internationally.

          During the three days of the conference, different forums and presentations were held. Through which participants engaged in lively discussions, shared research topics and experience to contribute to finding solutions for enhancing people’s health literacy with the ultimate goal of improving community health and prevention of diseases.

 

During the conference, Associate Professor Vo Van Thang has participated as the moderator of the “Global Diabetes Health Literacy Forum” and was also invited to evaluate exhibited posters. He also shared findings of his study on “Health literacy and associated factors among adults in Hue city, Vietnam” in the conference. In addition, Associate Professor Thang has attended many meetings with AHLA’s Director Boards to enhance the extension of health literacy  in the World. Besides these activities, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Lan has participated as a member of the Appraisal Review Meeting for the “Online Video Project on Health Literacy” and presented her research topic on “Quality of life among caregivers of  schizophrenic patients in central Vietnam”. Both research presentations from ICHR, Faculty of Public health, Hue UMP have received very high appreciation from conference participants and received much interest from various organizations participated in the conference.

The conference has successfully achieved its goals after three days of lively discussion. After three times of holding this conference in Taiwan,  the 4thInternational Conference on Health Literacy with the theme of "Health literacy on treatment at the hospital" was planned to be held in Vietnam in November of 2016.
