The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. The Conference of "PARA SA BOTA" in Manila - PhilippinesINTERNATIONAL CONFERENCEOF POLICYMAKERS AND RESEARCHERS DIALOGUE ON PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN IN PHILIPPINES (19-22/11/2018)
Within activities of the research project "Evidence for a Better Life - EBLS" that hosted by Cambridge University - UK, on 19-22/11/2018, A/Professor Vo Van Thang and Prof. Michael Dunne, co-Directors of the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HUMP), Dr. Dang Thi Anh Thu, researcher of the ICHR, and Mr. Ha Van Tuan - Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) of Thua Thien Hue province, have represented the Vietnamese team to attend the International Conference on Children Protection - AKO PARA SA BOTA – in Philippines. They met and discussed with policy makers from 8 countries on prevention of violence against children (VAC) in Manila, and then participated in EBLS consortium workshop in Tagaytay City, Philippines.

The EBLS project director, Professor. Manuel Eisner - Director of the Centre for Criminology, Cambridge University - and more than 20 stakeholders and policy makers from 8 countries (including Jamaica, South Africa, Ghana, Romania, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Vietnam) have attended the AKO PARA SA BATA conference with more than 2,000 participants. This is the annual largest international forum held inPhilippines. This year, the conference’s theme consisted with assessment of VAC status and proposal for strategies of reducing and ending VAC around the world, as pointed out in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The later EBLS Consortium Workshop was held at Tagaytay City on 21-22/11/2018. The workshop focused on the implementation of birth cohort pilot study in early 2019 in 8 EBLS countries; and planned to develop an extended EBLS research project proposal for the next five year period (2020-2025). This proposal is expected to be completed and submitted to potential international funding bodies in mid-2019.
This work of the ICHR has strengthened the relationships with the Cambridge University and international researchers, local policy makers from 8 countries in the EBLS project. We have established many general agreements in development of research and action plan and implementation for children rights in the future.
