The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

GMS8 Conference in Cambodia: "Moving toward the Universal Health Coverage: Strengthening Quality of Care"

                 From 5-6/11/2016, the 8th International Conference of Public Health of Mekong Sub-region countries with the theme "Moving toward the Universal Health Coverage: Strengthening Quality of Care" had took place at Sokha Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The delegation of the Faculty of Public Health and Institute of Public Health Research (ICHR) - Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy included 11 staff and 27 students.

          This is the first time that Cambodia hosted this Conference. According to the Organization Board, there were nearly 400 participants from the Mekong Sub-regional countries and delegates from other countries. At the conference, 185 scientific research projects are presented with poster or oral with various theme, such as the burden of disease (communicable and non-communicable diseases), Public health intervention and communication, health education, health determinants, universal health coverage and quality of care ....

           At this conference, A/Prof. Vo Van Thang - Dean of Hue Faculty of Public Health, Director of Institute for Community Health Research, HUMP – and Dr Nguyen Van Hung – Head of Department of Students’ Affairs were invited to be a chairman and vice chairman of the sessions at the conference.

           The delegation of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy had 8 oral and 11 Poster presentation. Out of 10 outstanding presentation awards, four awards belong to the delegation. Dr. Doan Vuong Diem Khanh and Ms. Vo Thi Linh Dan were excellent received the best oral presentation. Dr. Vo Nu Hong Duc and Dr. Dao Thi Minh Hong has awarded the best Poster presentation.

         Parallel with the conference, the delegation from HUMP also had a meeting with representatives of the National Health Commission office of Thailand regarding the preparation and organizing the 2nd ASEAN Conference on health impact assessment (HIA), scheduled to be held at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in April 2017.

          Ending the conference, on behalf of the Organization Board, A/Prof. Chhea Chhorvann thanks to the delegation, the scientists that have participated and contributed to the success of the conference. A/Prof. Vo Van Thang - representing the Secretariat of the network of the University of Public Health of the Greater Mekong sub-regional countries – gave the closing remarks and welcome Prof. Nay Soe Maung – Rector of School of Public Health - University of Yangon, Myanmar to hold the next Conference in Myanmar (GMS9). Prof. Nay Soe Maung expressed his honor to be the host of the next Conference and send the best welcome to all delegates and scholars at GMS9 Conference.
