The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

Science Festival, Hue 2012 ‘Public Health: Challenges and Solutions’

Integrating into the pleasant atmosphere of the Hue Festival 2012, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy- Hue University has the honor to continue holding the Science Festival 2012 with the theme ‘Community Health: Challenges and Solutions’. It is also an activity to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and to welcome the Hue Festival 2012. Science Festival 2012 will be held from 11-14/04/2012 with the great stature and abundant contents about science and community. In the program of the Festival, there are many international academicians from Italy, England, Japan, France and so on. In the opening session, audiences will listen to scientific, topical reports about topics such as stem cell, metabolism syndrome, the role of biomedicine to the life, care for chronic diseases…The exchanges among audience members and scientists on current emergent problems in the community will be held with the participation of scientists and experts from WHO, Sassari University, QUT university (Australia), Queensland Technology University-Australia, National Committee of Traffic Safety… Examples of sessions include ‘The community day on hepatitis B’, ‘Screening cervical cancer’ and ‘Alcohol and traffic accidents’. The Science Festival is a bridge that links science to the community, helps scientists to listen to the community and to communicate achievements and information to the community understandably.
There is no charge for coming to the Science Festival. In addition, audiences will participate in some games, quizzes and be counseled and tested for some health problems.
Besides the official activities in the Science Festival 2012, there are also some activities pre-festival such as ‘The conference on Emergency Medicine’, ‘The conference on digestion and endoscopy’ with experts from Japan and France. There will be fringe activities (additional activities) such as the PhD students conference with reports of professors and graduate students from Italy, Australia and Thailand, the exhibition of a photos competition entitled ‘The heritage city and environment’, an exhibition of the achievements of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and University Hospital. Furthermore, there are many such other activities as artistic performances and English quizzes. The Science Festival is a real chance to enhance approaches and to understand scientific fields serving the community. Apart from festival events, the second Science Festival features advanced scientific information. Certainly, it contributes to making Hue Festival a prestigious event that is accessible to everybody.
