Postponement of the Global Health Literacy Summit 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic Updated statement on Covid-19 24 April 2020 The International Health Literacy Association and E-DA Healthcare Group IShou University have been monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak carefully to assess its impact on the Global Health Literacy Summit planned for 26-28 October 2020 in Taiwan.

In close consultation with our Executive Boards, the Summit Steering Committee and Programme Committee, as well as the IHLA membership, we have made the decision to postpone the event until 2021. This decision was not taken lightly. However, due to the impact of the pandemic on travel planning, funding opportunities, and safety precautions, we find it in the best interest of our participants and global community that the event be postponed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this postponement might cause; these circumstances are unpredictable and out of our control. Up-to-date WHO advice and facts can be found here: www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novelcoronavirus-2019/technical-guidance We sincerely thank our participants, sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers for the strong support to continue the collaboration on making the first IHLA Summit a success – in 2021. The event in 2021 will be held at the same venue Kaohsiung Marriott Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. As previously planned, the main conference and exhibition will last 2.5 days including a welcome reception, banquet, masterclasses and cultural tours.

The new dates will be announced soon, as well as new milestones for abstract submission, early bird payment etc.

• The current abstract deadlines are suspended and our abstract submission will remain open to continue the ongoing review of submitted abstracts. The abstracts that have already submitted remain valid for the Summit in 2021.

• For those of you who have already registered (and paid), your registration will remain valid and automatically be transferred to the event in 2021.

More information can be found on the Summit website: www.ihlasummit2020.org.

You are also always welcome to contact our Secretariat team at info@ihlasummit2020.org. We stand together in hopes that the coronavirus will be contained as soon as possible, and our thoughts go out to those who have been affected.

The Global Health Literacy Summit team, the Executive Boards of IHLA and E-DA Healthcare group | I-Shou University look forward to welcoming you in Taiwan in 2021.

On behalf of the Steering Committee,
