The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

THE TRAINING COURSE "HEALTH IMPACT ASSESSMENT" IN HUE

The Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR) and the Faculty of Public Health – Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue UMP) coordinated with ADB for organizing the training workshop "Health Impact Assessment" (HIA) from 10–14/11/2017 in Hue

Within the framework of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR) and the Faculty of Public Health – Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue UMP) coordinated with ADB for organizing the training workshop "Health Impact Assessment" (HIA) from 10–14/11/2017 in Hue. The aim of this course is to provide content, processes and the importance of the process of HIA in parallel with Environmental Impact Assessment. The training course was taught by HIA experts of Hue UMP including A/Prof Vo Van Thang – Dean of Faculty of Public Health, Director of the ICHR; Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa –Vice Dean of Faculty of Public Health; and Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Lecturer of Faculty of Public Health.

Many trainees from several agencies and were attending the course. In which, from Thua Thien Hue province, there were delegates from Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Health, Preventive Medicine Center, HEPCO; faculties/departments of member of Hue University: University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Sciences and Institute of Natural Resources and Environment. Trainees from outside the province who also participated included the delegates from Preventive Medicine Centers of Quang Trị, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh Province.

The content of this course were delivered to participants by lectures, documents, and group discussions. A field visit was also arranged for participants to understand the project "Improving the water environment in Hue city"; which aimed to strengthen the research capacity of the staff in the field of health and environment and promote the development of evidence-based policy research from the leaders. Besides, expectations of the HIA workshop is to create the HIA network for both Central Region and across the country, in which HIA experts are the core academic team, focusing on building capacity resources, promoting innovation, and developing practices and research on HIA.

At the end of the course, all of the trainees were given a certificate for attending the workshop of HIA in Hue.
