Upcoming Events

The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

The Training course on “Research Methodology and NSA Intervention”

The Training course on “Research Methodology and NSA Intervention” from 25- 29th May, 2018.

 

 

Scale-up Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture (NSA) initiatives in poor mountainous areas in Vietnam and Lao PDR project (that is called NSA project in-short) has been initiated by Vrije University in Netherlands and MCNV. This project has been funded by WOTRO, a Netherlands Based Organization for Scientific Research. Under this funding, NSA project will be implemented in period of 2017 -2020 in Nong district – Savannakhet province - Laos and Dong Xuan district – Phu Yen province - Vietnam. The objective of this project aims to generate evidence on the effectiveness of, and potential to implement and scale-up, nutrition-sensitive agriculture amongst ethnic minorities in mountainous areas to contribute to improved food security and reduced malnutrition and poverty.

 

Within the NSA plan in 2018,  MCNV, Vrije Univerisity (VU), Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry and Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy have prepared a training course for PhD candidates as well as exchanging session among project partners.

During 26 to 28 May, Professor. Vo Van Thang and Lectures from Public health Faculty - Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy have given quantitative analysis course to PhD students.The course presented how to analyze quantitative data and to use SPSS software.

From 28-29 May, a training session on qualitative analysis and NSA interventions were conducted by facilitators from VU and Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry. Prof.Jacqueline Broerse - Director of Athena Institute, Vice-Dean of Science Faculty, VU was given qualitative method. In addition, Prof. Le Van An presented experience on researching, intervention and M&E of the NSA project in upland of Vietnam & Thailand 2013-2016.

From 30-31 May, a field visit to MCNV’s project areas in Dong Xuan District – Phu Yen province was arranged by MCNV.
