The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. Attending the 11th International Conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-regional Countries in Vientiane, Lao PDRFrom 17-19 October 2019, staff and students of The Institute for Community Health Research, Public Health Faculty, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy attended the 11th International Conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-regional Countries (GMS11) in Vientiane, Lao PDR with the theme "Improving health equity: a public health challenge".
The ICPH-GMS11 is an annual scientific activity of the Greater Mekong Subregion's countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, China, and Vietnam. The conference aims to enhance regional capacity in addressing the needs and significant challenges for public health through the provision of research, reports on health education community as well as monitoring and policies. The 11th conference discussed on solving the problem of health care inequity existing in the health systems of countries of the Greater Mekong Subregion in particular and all over the world in general. The Vietnamese delegates who headed by A/Prof. Vo Van Thang - Director of the ICHR, Dean of Faculty of Public Health, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, have provided 14 oral presentations and 14 poster presentations spanning many issues related to the public health sector.
Within the activities of the Conference, A/Prof. Vo Van Thang and Dr. Dang Thi Anh Thu also joined in the leadership meeting of universities, institutes and faculties of public health, members of the Greater Mekong Subregion on Public Health. This assembly was the discussion on the strengthening the cooperation among the participant organizations and considering the admission of new members. The meeting has also developed preliminary plans for the GMS 12th conference in Thailand in the following year, and the 13th in Vietnam which will be hosted by the Faculty of Public Health, HueUMP and Hanoi University of Public Health in 2021. A/Prof. Vo Van Thang, who was one of the founders of the GMS conference, also participated in the seminar titled "Join Hands for Collaboration on Public Health Research to improve the Health Equity among GMS countries", which covered the opportunity for researchers to learn more about the reality, research methods and future development on public health of the region.
