The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

Hue university of medicine and pharmacy delegation attended the APAME 2015 conference in Manila, PhilippinesIn the framework of the project to upgrade the Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy, granted by the Institute for Community Health Research - Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Queensland University of Technology, Australia, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has sent its delegations to attend the annual conference of the Association of Medical Journal Editors in Asia-Pacific region (Asian-Pacific Association of Medical Editors - APAME), held in Manila, Philippines on 24-26 / 8/2015. APAME is an association of editors in the medical field with the aim to build a network among editors in order to support the development of medicine through publication, release and spread research and scientific information with good quality in the Asia-Pacific region. The main objective of APAME is to encourage the cooperation and connection between editors in medical sector in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world; enhance editorial quality and professionalism in medical editing through training, self-assessment and self-governance; improve the skills of writing, editing through workshops, seminars and other activities; continuing medical education for medical editors, reviewers, publishers and librarians ... This annual Conference of APAME with the theme "Shifting Paradigms, Trend and Innovations" was hosted by the association of medical editors of the Philippines (PAMJE), in conjunction with the Philippines Council for Scientific Research and Development, and Manila University under the support of the Office of the World Health Organization in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific. In this conference, many presentations have been performed by scientists, editors, managers in the field of Medicine publication, from countries around the world, focused on the theme of copyright author, sharing medical data in the region through the medical index of area, such as IMSEAR or WPRIM, training in research and publishing, publication quality improvement as well as ethical issues in research, editing and publishing ... The delegation from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy also gave an overview presentation on the situation of publication in medical fields in Vietnam, an overview of establishing the indexes of the journal in Vietnam based on those of the region, such as IMSEAR and WPRIM, as well as evaluating the potentials and solutions for medical publishing branch in Vietnam to be able to catch up with other countries in the region. Parallel to the activities of the conference, the delegation from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy also had a working visit to the University of Manila, set up the foundation for future cooperation between the two universities in the field of research and training. The delegation also worked with leaders of APAME and the Office of the World Health Organization in the Western Pacific Region (WPRO) to expedite the establishment of index of the Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy based on those of Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM).
