The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

The Feedback Workshop of “Evidence for Better Lives (EBLS)” – A Foundational Study in Hue city, Viet NamIn the framework of the project "Evidence for Better Lives", the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR) – Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy hold a feedback workshop on the results to summarise and present preliminary research results in recent time, the project was administrated by Assoc. Prof. Vo Van Thang - Director of the ICHR acting as Project Manager in the city of Hue.

The workshop was an honour to welcome Professor. Manuel Eisner - PI, Director of the Violence Research Center, from the University of Cambridge, the UK to present; Attending the conference also there were Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy - Rector of Hue Medical University; Prof. Michael Dunne, co-director of the ICHR - Members of the project advisory committee; Representatives from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Thua Thien Hue province; Representatives from the Women’s Union of Thua Thien Hue province and Hue city; Representative of Hue city Health Center; Representatives of the People's Committee, Women's Union, CHCs of Tay Loc, Phu Binh, Phuoc Vinh, Thuy Bieu, Huong Long, Phu Hoi, Phu Hiep, An Tay ward; and all the members involved in the project in Hue.
The workshop started with the presentation to introduce the project implementation process and the journey of data collection in the field by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hoang Lan - Coordinator of data collection; and the final report and the announcement of some findings in the result of the preliminary study by Dr Luong Thanh Bao Yen (MSc) - General Coordinator of the project in Hue. Thereby, the preliminary studies estimated the rate of domestic violence (IPV) during pregnancy in the last 6 months of pregnancy, and prenatal depression rate from moderate to severe levels were 14.7% and 12.7%, respectively. The data also showed the significant relationship between domestic violence in pregnant women with the educational level of the husband; the factor of stress also been shown to affect depression before the birth of many women. Besides, domestic violence during pregnancy also increased the risk of postpartum depression, as demonstrated with statistical significance in some mothers when observed in the phase of three months after birth. After the report, workshop participants divided into two groups discussing difficulties faced when implementing projects in the community as well as to resolve problems if the implementation of primary research in the future, expected to begin in 2021 with a larger scale many times over.
