The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

Health Fair in Scientific Festival 2016As part of the Hue Scientific Festival 2016, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has organized the "Health Fair" on 29 April, 2016 at Ly Tu Trong Park in Hue city. The Institute for Community Health Research participated in the exhibition and presented some of the activities of the Institute at this event. ICHR's exhibition in Health Fair 2016 The "Health Fair" attracted the attention of numerous people, including high school and university students. According to the organizer’s estimates, about 1500-2000 people participated in this festival. With community-centeredness as a guiding principle, the program gave people access to health care services free of charge. The services included blood glucose measuring and diabetes pathology consultations, hypertension assessment, consultation about some common mental disorders in the elderly, screening of some common cancers, introduction of family medicine, safe use of medications, and giving nutritional advice, introduced a number of functional foods... Additionally, the organizers also participated in exchanges: other stands gave the opportunity to take pictures in traditional Korean clothing or Japanese costumes, and most stands gave free souvenirs to participants at the fair. The ICHR took part in the “Health Fair”, where it introduced its activities and achievements of the past year, as well as its collaboration with the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Under the slogan " Building stronger University-Community Connections", ICHR always pays attention to the activities of the Community and for the Community, to help people better understand the role and functions of the Institute. About 700 visitors passed by the event and learnt about the activities of the ICHR. During the event, the Institute also organized a small survey about the health status and needs of the people that attracted about 300 participants.
