“Public Health Challenges in the 21st Century” ​

In order to widen the scientific research themes and strengthen international and national relationships of young researchers and students with other Faculty of Public Health among Southeast Asian countries, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy will host The Second Scientific Conference of Young Researchers in April 2018.

The theme of the 9th ICPH-GMS (2017), Yangon is “Adopting Healthy Lifestyle: Combating Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs)”. NCDs are the leading causes of death in the GMS countries at present and they create enormous health burden with serious socioeconomic implications.

Activities of ICHR within the 5th Hue Science Festival

With the theme “Health Science improving Medical Care and Community Health”, the Hue Science Festival 2018 took place from April 27-29.

 

The Science Festival is the connection among researchers and lecturers with the people in Hue, Vietnam and other countries. This is a platform for them to share their ideas and learning experience in the field of health sciences in an attempt to improve health care and public health in the future.

Accompanying the Hue Festival 2018, the Institute for Community Health Research in collaboration with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy had organized and participated the 5th Hue Science Festival with many activities such as Early Healthy Child Development Forum; The Second Scientific Conference for Young Researchers in Public Health; as well as the ICHR's activities exhibitions.

With financial and technical support from the Atlantic Philanthropies (USA), Queensland University of Technology (Australia), the Institute for Community Health Research - Hue UMP had been formed and launched since 2014. Through scientific activities and community activities in this year's Scientific Festival, the Institute introduced the typical activities and achievements of the past few years, as well as the introduction of the Queensland University of Technology, Australia - the key partner of the Institute. After nearly four years of operation, the staff of the Institute always pursue the mission and the goal was to create a stronger connection between the university and the community, which is geared towards ccommunity and community activities.
